The team of Turiba University, Latvia has started the English course piloting. The course piloting is done by two English language teachers Inese Ate and Sundars Vaidesvarans and it will last till April 2019.
In order to inform more students about the project, a series of dissemination seminars have been held by the English teacher Anda Komarovska involving 18 learners:
- The first seminar was held on 14.02.2019. Four participants who represented the Faculty of International Tourism – 2nd year Event Management students, were involved in doing the tasks.
- The second seminar was held on 25.02.2019. Four participants from the Faculty of International Tourism – 1st year Event Management students, were involved in doing the tasks.
- The third and the fourth seminars were held on 04.03.2019. Two groups, in total 10 learners, from the Faculty of International Tourism – 1st year Tourism and Hospitality Management students, were involved in doing the tasks.
All students were given a chance to select between all modules and sub-modules, putting an emphasis on B2 level tasks, as the groups represented B2-C1 language level.
The students did most of the tasks with interest and enthusiasm, however the evaluation was different – they found some of the tasks more useful and creative than some others, which will help to make improvements and mark the errors.
