On 21 June 2019 the new EU project “Cultural knowledge and language competences as a means to develop the 21st century skills“ was presented to secondary-school teachers at Ekonomska šola Murska Sobota. The teachers were informed about the idea of the new project, the target group, the project partners and the e-learning platform. They were shown the structure and content of modules in more details. They were also shown examples of tasks and how the system grades and evaluates their answers. Together we solved some tasks as not all of them speak English so that they could see how the platform works. In general, they liked the platform but found it important that there are opportunities of solving tasks in the traditional way – by working together with colleagues, for ex. face-to-face tasks, case studies or webquests. They also liked the idea of improving their ICT skills while solving the tasks online. They found it important that the e-platform is not only about teaching language but also about gaining information on cultural heritage and socializing while doing creative and F-2-F tasks. It is also important that the content, once translated into other languages, can be used for different subjects, such as foreign languages, mother tongue, history, sociology and others.
