From the 31st January to the 2nd February, 2020 the 27th international travel trade “Balttour 2020” took place in Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga and it brought together860 tourism industry companies from across the world. The fair was attended by 30’000 visitors. In the thematic hall “Travel Latvia!” visitors could learn about new traveling routes in all regions of Latvia. In the other hall “Discover the World!” it was possible to buy trips to destinations in almost 200 countries and to get information on the newest tourist attractions around the world for convenient prices. A special mood was given by exhibitors from more exotic destinations, such as Cuba, Indonesia and Seychelles.
During the first day of the fair two project team members from Turiba University visited this event and the leaflets of the Erasmus+ project “Cultural knowledge and language competences as a means to develop 21st century skills” were also disseminated to participants as well as for the guests of this event.
